I’m looking for a roommate of any gender to share my 2BR, 1 bath apartment in downtown Menlo Park after my current roommate moves out on Sept 1.
COST: Rent is $1640/month + gas, electric, trash pickup. There will be a $1650 security deposit.
THE APARTMENT: Two-bedroom, 1100 sq ft, with wood floors and a large living/dining area that gets a lot of light, and one shared bathroom. On the second story of a small four-unit building, with the landlord living in the apartment below. On-site coin laundry. No AC, no dishwasher, no smoking. Gas stove, full size refrigerator, nice countertops. Common spaces, including kitchen supplies (dishes, pots and pans, etc) are already furnished, but the bedroom is not. One parking spot available.
LOCATION: Within easy walking distance of downtown Menlo Park, including a couple of grocery stores. 15 minute bike ride to Stanford’s campus or downtown Palo Alto, 15 minute walk to the Menlo Park Caltrain station.
PETS: My two very friendly cats (you can see them in the living room photo) live in the apartment already, so no additional pets, sorry! I’ll generally take care of all cat care chores, but I do travel a lot for work so preferably I’m looking for a roommate who would be up for taking over while I’m out of town.
ROOMMATE STUFF: I'm a female Stanford physics postdoc. My hobbies include cooking, reading, drawing, yoga, rock climbing, and watching more tv than I intend to. I like occasionally hosting craft nights, or similar low-key gatherings, which you would be more than welcome to join. I would be fine with you having people over as well as long as we are considerate and communicative about plans. Note though that sound carries pretty easily between this apartment and neighbors', so this is not a place for hosting parties. I tend to be pretty tidy, and especially like to keep a clean kitchen. It’s important to me that we share cleaning chores and actively check in about how that is balanced, as well as about other co-living arrangements.
