Two unfurnished rooms available in furnished 5Br/3.5Bth just off of Oregon and Alma, one open beginning in May and one open beginning in June. The room opening in May is $1110, and the room opening in June is $1260. Utilities and internet are not included but run about $60 per person depending on the season/heater use.
About the rooms: The May room (the first one in the photos) is the smallest in the house, but still fits a bed and a large desk comfortably. It has a built in closet and storage space, and looks out on some lilies on the side of the house. You’d share a bathroom with one of the roommates, but she has her own half bathroom so really just the shower is shared. The June room (the second one in the photos) is spacious, with a sliding glass door that opens on to our big backyard. This one also has a built-in closet, and you’d share a bathroom with two sinks with one other roommate.
About the house: We are walking distance to the California Ave Caltrain (about 20 min), and Midtown Shopping Center. There is a washer and dryer in our spacious garage. The kitchen is kosher-- as in, no pig or shellfish, and no dishes that combine meat and dairy-- but only one of us keeps kosher. We have a microwave and fridge in the garage for unkosher meats that can be cooked out there (eating unkosher foods inside the house is fine, we just don’t cook those inside our kitchen). Feel free to ask to clarify anything about that!
About the roommates: come June you will for sure have 2 girls and 1 guy-- one grad student, and two tech employees, all three involved in computer science though you wouldn’t guess that by talking to us :) The house has been a fairly communal/social space, but of the dinner party and game night kind, not the rager kind. We are often up until 10/11 on a weekday, 12/1 on a weekend hanging out together after work, playing Hanabi or watching some Game of Thrones or Orphan Black, but we also have our separate social circles. We’re considerate of each other’s needs and feelings, ask how each other’s days went, and spend on average more time in the common spaces than in our own rooms.
Send over an email if you think you could be a good fit, and tell us a little about yourself-- what you’re up to in the area, what you’re looking for in a living situation. Looking forward to hearing from you!
