I’m looking for someone to take over my portion of the lease in a Palo Alto apartment from May 1 (flexible) until May 31, with the option to stay longer. The room is the bigger of the two bedrooms in a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment in Palo Alto and currently fits a full size bed, a desk, and two dressers with extra space. You would be sharing the bathroom and the common areas with a friendly 24-year-old female who lives in the other room. The unit has a living room, dining area, and a renovated kitchen, and it also comes with a private outdoor patio and an in-building storage unit. You would also get the covered parking spot that is reserved for the unit. There is a pool, fitness room, laundry, and bike storage in the building as well. All common areas will be furnished, and I can be flexible on the furniture in the room itself.
The apartment is a 5 minute bike ride or a 15-20 minute walk to the California Ave Caltrain station and within biking distance to Stanford (many Stanford grad students live in the building). The building is located in a quiet residential area but close to Stanford, downtown Palo Alto, downtown Mountain View, and Page Mill for highway access. There are several grocery stores within walking or biking distance, and Safeway and Trader Joe’s are 5-7 minutes by car.
I am moving up to San Francisco with one month left on my lease and looking for someone who can fill my spot on May 1 (flexible on the date). You can sublet from me or be added to the lease - your choice. The lease ends on May 31, at which point you could move out or stay and sign another lease.
The place is perfect for someone who needs a place to stay while looking for other housing or wants to make this their long-term home.
Rent is $1450 for the month of May, plus internet and utilities (around $70-$100). In addition, there is a $300 deposit. I’m willing to negotiate on these if needed.
The current roommate requests a friendly female roommate and no couples or double occupancy. Please tell me a little bit about yourself, such as your age, occupation, living habits, and typical schedule, desired move in date, and your weekday availability for seeing the place. Facebook or LinkedIn would be a plus if you want to share them. Unfortunately, I will be out of town during the weekend and can only show the place on weekdays.
I’m willing to be flexible with the terms, so feel free to ask questions. Looking forward to hearing from you!
