The roommate needs to be respectful, clean and congenial. Strong preference for someone who is looking for long-term housing. The lease is for one individual not a family or a couple. No smoking, pets, drugs and overnight guests are allowed (family and friends are OK). Highly recommend ownership of a car for transportation needs.

This three-bedroom/2.5 bath is an oasis, located in the heart of Silicon Valley. This home is centrally located. It is seven tenths of a mile from quaint downtown Los Altos (2-3 minutes driving or a leisurely 15 minute walk). It is equidistant between 280 and 101; and it is 5 miles to downtown Palo Alto and Stanford University, and 3.6 miles to Mountain View. This home is located in a safe, friendly neighborhood. All neighbors know each other on the block and there are annual potlucks. Los Altos is a booming town with the recent addition of new cafes and restaurants. For example, a cafe called Voyageur du Temps (time traveler in French) is housed in one of Los Altos' early train stations, built on 1st Street in 1913. In addition, Safway just opened a top-of-the line grocery store on the 18th of July. The grocery store has an ample bakery, floral section, wine assortment, meat department, and pharmacy. This posting is not for a room to rent but rather for a roommate to share this beautiful home. The renter will have her own room (12ftx12ft) and private bath (shower and tub). She will have full access to the living room, dining room, kitchen, patio, office (3rd bedroom), patio and grounds (11,000 sq. ft). She will have adequate storage in all of the common areas. Off street parking is available on the wide driveway. The bedroom is furnished with a plantation-style, canopy bed and mattress, an oversized chair for reading and mahogany/tiger eye oak dressers (the furniture can be vacated if desired).

This spacious, upscale 2,000 sq. ft. house has rustic, hand-crafted furnishings accented by academic paintings and sketches, a professionally landscaped garden, and plank-style oak flooring. This home was gutted by my grandfather and completely remodeled with bay windows overlooking the garden, an open-concept floor pattern that allows flow from the kitchen to the dining and living room, a gazebo for a retreat and handmade cabinetry.
