I bought this car when I started graduate school and now that I've graduated I'm looking to sell. The car has been fun and faithful on long and short distances. It was mostly used to commute between San Francisco and Palo Alto. I've kept up all the maintenance with a VW specialist (Advanced Audi and VW) and they tell me that the car probably has more than another 100K miles left to go. I've replaced all parts that needed to be replaced and because it's an older model Jetta (predates the more complicated electronic systems of the new Jettas) it is easy and inexpensive to fix. Besides normal wear and tear, I've never had a mechanical problem with the car.

The cons to the car are mostly cosmetic. The front reflectors and a side panel were stolen some years ago. The cassette player is missing a plastic piece on the outside but still works. There are minor scratches. The car will need a new fan belt in the next year and the dip stick is cracked.

I've really enjoyed this car and hope to pass it along to an owner looking for a similar experience. It's a great car for getting you to where you need to go.
