I'm looking for a last minute place to stay when flying in this Thursday with my friend for 3 nights. Here for work and to check out Chicago live music as well as food and drink scene. Location could be anywhere nearby the downtown or a short train/uber ride away. We're mid 40's and respectful/responsible and don't mind a shared house situation. · Thanks. · submitted by /u/music180-365 [link] [comments]
Looking for 2 Bedroom or 1 Bedroom with Sofa Bed 8/27-8/30 near Downtown
Hi all! I know this question has probably been asked a million times. I have looked through a lot of threads but I thought I’d ask for my specific circumstances. · I’m a 28 year old single woman who is pretty much an old lady and homebody. I don’t party and I like peace and quiet. I was raised in a quiet and safe suburb in Indiana. I love Chicago, and I want to move there. But I’m really looking for a place to move that is very quiet but offers more than the Indiana town I’m in. I don’t want to be near parties, loud groups of people, loud music, drunk people stumbling around at 3am. I’m looking for peaceful, safe, cozy, cafes, leafy green roads, neighborly feeling places. To add, I’m sure most places will be a huge leap in quality of life from where I’m from. I prefer something that people in their twenties might find a little boring / laidback / mellow. · I only make $53k (working on that) and want to transition to remote work. My hobbies are walking, exercise, reading, crafting. Aspirationally I’d like to take sign language classes, swim, and do ceramics. I’m lefty, queer, uu, love nature. I’d like to make friends my age. I would sell my car if I could. · As far as neighborhoods, I was considering East Albany Park or Edgewater (though I’m a little nervous about safety as a single woman). Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, and Andersonville are awesome, but I’m sure out of my budget. I love taking the brown line. I’d love any suggestions, especially specific areas I should look for. Thanks! · submitted by /u/Ok_Kelp [link] [comments]
Where to rent as 28F but an old lady in spirit
Looking for a sublease september through end of november. I am a DePaul senior 22M, budget's around 1000-1200 (can be flexible). Honestly do not mind the location as long as it's close to transportation (especially the L), any questions I can answer by all means and I know this is super last second, so hopefully something can work out. · Move in date would ideally be September 6th. I am currently out of town and won’t be in till the 5th. · submitted by /u/KelloggFan1 [link] [comments]
ISO September - November
I know its a shot in the dark but we're a couple with an infant, and so our budget is pretty low, under 1400 monthly for a 2 bed which has us looking really far. We've been looking as far as IN to find a decent place to rent while my husbanf finishes schooling, but his commute is around Logan Square. Does anyone have any recommendations for safe areas? I grew up in the west and southside, so I guess im just looking for a pocket or town to look in. Thanks in advance! · submitted by /u/ffroggyi [link] [comments]

ISO Sublease September-November
I feel like I’m missing something. My husband and I have been searching for an apartment with an October 1 move in date. I have a spreadsheet with 30 addresses that we’ve contacted people about hoping for a tour. Out of those 30, how is it I’ve only seen 1? And I had 2 others scheduled, but they both canceled! Am I looking too early? Are people just spending a shit ton of money on app first just to be considered for a tour? We have lots of options within our budget and requirements, but it seems impossible to actually get the ball moving and I don’t know why. · submitted by /u/curiouschloe [link] [comments]
Are people paying app fees before seeing the apartment?
Sublet in Logan Square
I was assigned into a doubles dorm in Burton Judson as an incoming freshman, but I heard BJ is mostly singles and looking at the virtual tour of the doubles room, it seems a bit cramped as a double. I was wondering if anyone could share what living in the BJ doubles dorm is like? Thanks! · submitted by /u/Medium_Magazine1190 [link] [comments]

URGENT: Fall 2026 Sublease — $793/month | ½ Block from Purdue | Private Bedroom
Hi, I'm moving to Chicago from Miami and looking to start a job in Gold Coast near Lakefront park. Been looking at places on apartments.com but seeing mixed reviews on some places when it comes to mold/roaches/bad management. Is this just a normal thing everyone has to deal with in this area? · Do you have any recommendations on good management companies to look into? Or which ones I should avoid? Is it better dealing with an individual owner rather than a company? · These are some of the places I've looked at so far: · https://www.apartments.com/parkway-apartments-chicago-il/7zs5c7z/#availabilitySectio?utmsource=sharedlisting&utmmedium=direct https://www.apartments.com/424-w-diversey-chicago-il/zyg48qw/#reviewsSectio?utmsource=sharedlisting&utmmedium=direct https://www.apartments.com/1350-w-webster-ave-chicago-il-unit-g/zyre5ry?utmsource=sharedlisting&utm_medium=direct · Basically could use any help you all have for a studio in Gold Coast north up to Lake view or even Buena park and Uptown. · Thank you! · submitted by /u/powerlifting11 [link] [comments]
Need Studio in Gold Coast to Lakeview area in September
Has anyone had experience looking at apartments through a local realtor? I heard about it from someone I was asking advice from, and it seems like a great idea. Would love to hear if anyone has tried this & the experience, and especially if you have any personal recommendations. Thanks! · submitted by /u/7milejasmine [link] [comments]
Rental Realtors? (Hyde Park)
I know this is a long shot but kinda desperate. Looking for a needle in a haystack in Chicago: · Currently living in lakeview east and want to be closer to downtown. Not really picky on location, just want to be slightly lower south. Looking at Old Town, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, and Streeterville. · Looking for a studio or 1 bedroom under $2k per month. · For a studio, I want to have enough room to have a couch and bed, not just a bed. I’m only interested in the floor plans that have the kitchen somewhat in its own space, not right on top of the bed area. · Would absolutely love to have hardwood instead of carpet. · 24/7 doorman/nice building in general is a huge plus. · I feel like at this point the only way I’ll find something is a sublease or condo rental of sorts from someone because I’m def looking for something more higher end but on a budget? Thoughts or ideas?? Don’t flame me plssss · submitted by /u/Lonely_Dot8078 [link] [comments]

Sublease near Loyola Fall 2026-27
• 26 yo man • Make over $75k • Credit is terrible. About 560 right now due to having to cover family bills. • Willing to live with roommate(s) • Willing to live anywhere, hoping to find something between Park Ridge and Oak Park but understand I need to be flexible. Also super interested in living as close to the city as I can get. • Have a friendly little kitty cat following me · I am looking to move in somewhere within by the end of September. I can provide income statement, I can provide a letter of intent, I can also provide the first two months rent up front, credit checks, just need something! Currently staying and paying to live with a friend after mutually splitting with my ex girlfriend and have had a falling out with my family over money issues. Really trying to get my own place, so please if you know any where that accepts lower credit or can point me in the right direction, I’m listening! Looking for a studio or 1bd
I've been looking for an apartment on the northside of Chicago for a couple weeks now. My max rent I'm looking to pay per month is like $1350. There's a decent chunk of 300sqft studios available, but it's been really difficult to find anything that isn't poorly maintained or I look up the realtor company afterward and everyone is saying they're awful. I've only seen two so far that actually looked nice, but one was taken the same day after I did my tour, and the other one my application is pending. · So, I'm starting to get desperate and I'm considering maybe I give garden units a chance. I've been avoiding them so far because I hear they're more likely to get bugs, but tbh I don't really mind as long as I don't get roaches. What are some warning signs to look for though? I've heard if they have wood floors that are warping that signifies water drainage issues, but idk what else. · submitted by /u/RemoteTaro8109 [link] [comments]
