Mobile Summer Institute (MoSI) on Scientific Teaching

The Mobile Summer Institutes (MoSIs) are open to faculty, staff, and researchers from any discipline who are interested in better engaging students and supporting their success.

 

MoSIs are week-long, hands-on workshops inspired by the National Academies Summer Institutes. They focus on improving STEM education through Scientific Teaching—an approach that emphasizes active learning, inclusivity, thoughtful course design, and meaningful assessment. Sessions are interactive and discussion-based, giving participants practical tools they can use right away.

 

During the MoSI, you’ll work in small groups to design teaching and mentoring activities, share ideas, and receive peer feedback. You’ll leave with polished, peer-reviewed materials ready for the classroom or lab.
