Sunny Studio with Garden

Enjoy indoor/outdoor living in peaceful Mt Washington! With hiking trails and birdsong, our neighborhood feels remote but it's only two metro stops from Downtown LA! Our yard is an organic oasis with citrus, figs, pomegranates, and grapes—we also have great views of the DTLA skyline! On game nights we can watch the fireworks over Dodgers Stadium from our pergola. We're first time hosts but long-time guests—we've designed this place with quality & comfort in mind.

The space
You'll find the kitchenette stocked with coffee, bubbly water, and basics like salt, sugar, oil.

This casita is peaceful & has great views because it sits high above the street. Read: lots of steps! There are 36 steps between the street and this casita!

The full-size bed has premium linen sheets. (If you prefer regular cotton, just let us know and we'll swap them out!) We've maximized space here. You'll find a dresser under the bed and space to store your luggage.

The kitchen area is equipped with: mini fridge, toaster oven, electric kettle and hotplate. Your coffee options are pour-over, french press and and Turkish coffee.

We compost! We have a composter in the yard and two green bins along the street.

There is plenty of street parking, but to be good neighbors we as you to bring only one car per-reservation. Note, our street is quite steep. We have a slow EV charger which we’re happy to share. Let us know if you'd like use of it.

The A-line Metro can be reached by bike, and we're only two stops from Downtown LA!

Guest access
We’re happy to share our whole yard with guests! Only the main house and front patio are off-limits. Likewise we're happy to share the organic fruit from our trees and herbs from our garden.

Other things to note
Josie, our cattle dog / mutt has full access to the outdoor spaces.

At night we often hear coyotes. In the early evenings a flock of Pasadena parrots pass by. Raccoons, possums, and feral cats are frequent visitors. A pair of ravens nest in a tree across the street and can be quite vocal during the day.

We love our neighborhood! You can reach hiking trails on foot and the metro by bike. One of the best Taquerias in LA is a 10 minute walk away, and one of the best coffee shops is even closer. The LA River bike path is a great place for walking/running/biking.
