We’re looking for a new housemate! A sunny, private room is opening this July. The room is unfurnished and shares a bathroom with three other housemates.

This is not simply a shared living situation, but an intentional community. We are six queer-friendly individuals in our 20s-30s who are committed to building an inclusive, efficient, and nourishing home with you. We value intellectual curiosity, artistic expression, and most importantly kindness.

We have community agreements and try to foster peaceful communication, mutual care, and collective growth. In general, our home environment is laid-back and quiet, but we love sharing our interests and experiences with one another over meals, games, and casual chats. We enjoy spending time together, and also doing our own things. We love getting good use out of the house, and put in effort to keep it clean, useful, and comfortable for all. We make a practice of sharing food and other staples (i.e. toilet paper, detergent, etc), and these are included as a part of monthly utility bills (having your own food is totally okay too). We each have a regular chore, like taking out the trash, and typically cook one night of the week for the house.

The house itself is large (2,450 ft2) with big windows and wood floors, and sits on a quiet, tree-lined street above a steep canyon landscape. Common spaces include a modern kitchen, full dining room, cozy living room, spacious garage storage/workspace, and a laundry room with an in-unit washer/dryer. The private backyard includes a sauna, hot tub, swimming pool, and brick patio. This location is great if you want convenient access to everything (by car); we’re right by the 280 and it’s a 25 minute drive to both Stanford University and the Mission in SF, while great food (e.g. San Mateo) and gorgeous hiking (e.g. Pacifica) is reachable in 15 minutes. Public transit is not walkable from our house, please check this map location to make sure it works for you.
